This Saturday hit your local shops on a date! I call this a double bonus. You’re supporting locals and on a date! Forget the mall, shop small! On this date, you and your date will be meet friendly employees, discover deals, and find awesome gifts. If you are nice, you may have opportunities to get a little closer to your love as you hold hands and share soft whispers about what you see. I have already reviewed of my town of Emmaus, PA so I am going to write about Bethlehem, PA!
Oh man, this one is easy. Close to my hometown, there is a city called Bethlehem, which is rich with historic sites, colleges, festivals, fine dining, coffee shops, art galleries and cute shops to browse. This small strip provides the perfect balance of history, good eats and shopping.
If you head downtown in the morning or late afternoon, you may plan to visit four to five spots. Ideas! I would give the date 2-3 hours. Even if the shopping is not your total fav, you may find something unique finds at the Spy Shop, free samples and a carriage ride for two. Typically, my dates start with a mocha in my hand so I hit The Joint or The Backdoor BakeShop. Since my hubby and I run, we also enjoy browsing Aadvark for sneakers and gear.
When you walk the street, you will find so much to look at so please take you time, window shop and enter shops just look around. I love the The Sun Inn , Moravian Bookshop, Donegal Square, and the Chocolate Lab. You can’t go wrong with chocolate! If you have a few minutes, don’t forget to walk behind the Hotel Bethlehem to the historic sites which present photo ops for your holiday card. Grab your selfie stick!
When you are feeling hungry and need to warm up, have lunch at Tapas or Fegley’s BrewWorks. If you like to stroll, Moravian College isn’t far or Sand Island has the D&L trail which follows the river. I could go on but you get the idea. This little city is a must hit for a 1st date to a 1000th date. So, I invite you to design your Shop Small Date in this historic city and fall in love under the star of Bethlehem.
